WORKSHOP BY DAYS

The workshop has a Q&A format and a Discussion. It consists of three separate public Zoom meetings streamed by YouTube.
 
Focusing on the four specific Exhibition themes, the curatorial team asks questions to the guest speakers whose answers are then followed by further discussion. The session ends with a summary and concluding remarks.

Guest Speakers

Day 1: John Goodall

Architectural editor of Country Life. His most recent books are The English Castle 1066-1650 (2011), Parish Church Treasures (2015), Interior House Style (2019) and The Castle: A History (2022). John sits on the fabric advisory committees of several English cathedrals and great churches as well as the Cathedrals Fabric Committee for England

Day 2: Alan Powers

He writes about the history of architecture, art and design, and exhibitions curator, mainly of the 20th century. He is a History Leader at the London School of Architecture and a lecturer at New York University London and the University of Kent. His books include Britain (Modern Architectures in History series, 2007), Bauhaus Goes West (2019), and monographs on architects Goodhart-Rendel, Hill, Campbell, Chermayeff and Goldfinger (2024, jointly with E. Harwood), and artist-designers. He is a trustee of the Twentieth Century Society, a former chairman, and an editor of its journal and monograph series. He is also Chairman of Pollock’s Toy Museum and author of Abbatt Toys: Modern Toys for Modern Children (2020).

Day 3: Neil Jackson

Architect, architectural historian and Professor Emeritus at the University of Liverpool, England. He has served as President of the Society of Architectural Historians of Great Britain and as a Trustee of the Twentieth-Century Society and the Victorian Society. He is a Senior Fellow of the Institute of Historical Research, University of London, and an Ishibashi Foundation/Japan Foundation Fellow. His books include The Modern Steel House(1996); Craig Ellwood and California Modern, The Architecture of Craig Ellwood(2002); Saltaire, the Making of a Model Town(2010); Pierre Koenig: A View from the Archive(2019); Japan and the West: An Architectural Dialogue(2019); and Peter Womersley(2023).
